Itinerary

Your driver will be waiting for you at the airport and will take you to your riad in the medina. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the area.  

  • Overnight: Riad & Spa Bahia Salam or similar.

After breakfast, your guide will show you the Medina's most important sights: the Koutubia Mosque, the vast Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the colorful, lively souks with their oriental scents, the Bab Agnaou, Marrakech's most beautiful gate, and the Bahia Palace. The rest of the afternoon is yours. You can explore further on your own, for example, by visiting the famous gardens, or relax in a traditional hammam. Afterwards, savor your impressions in a typical Moroccan restaurant in the Medina.

After breakfast your tour starts and takes you through the largest city in the country, Casablanca. Here, you'll visit the famous Hassan II Mosque (interior tour). Your journey continues to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There, you'll visit the gardens of the Royal Palace, the Kasbah of the Oudaias, one of the most important buildings of the Almohad period, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V with its imposing Hassan Tower. Visit the medina with its winding alleys, beautiful studded wooden doors, and terraces overlooking the Bouregreg River.

Today's journey is planned by car. Enjoy a comfortable journey through breathtaking scenery and admire the impressive Rif Mountains and the picturesque villages along the way. After approximately 4 hours, where your exploration of this fascinating city begins.

After a delicious breakfast, we continue our journey through the picturesque landscape of the Rif Mountains via Chefchaouen to Fez. The drive offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. In Chefchaouen, blue-washed houses and the winding alleys of the medina await you. Use the time to stroll, take photos, and relax in the cozy cafés. Sample local specialties such as tagine and couscous in authentic restaurants. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Morocco's oldest royal city.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will best explore the fascinating city of Fez in the context of a city tour. You will travel to the “Castle of the South”, where you will unforgettable panoramic view of the old town. Fez is a World Heritage Site under the UNESCO protection. Through the beautifully decorated gate “Bab Boujelou” you reach the best preserved old town district of Morocco and you can visit the Koran school “Bou Inania”, the tomb of Moulay Idriss and the Kairouine Mosque, as well as the oldest university in the world. You will see the colorful souks, the merchant and artisan alleys of the Coppersmiths, tanners, tailors, chasers and potters. At the end of the tour you can Enjoy a fresh Moroccan-style peppermint tea in an authentic café.

On our third day in Fez, we'll take a trip to Volubilis, an impressive Roman archaeological site, whose ruins we'll explore in detail. Afterwards, we'll travel to the royal city of Meknes. The city lies on a fertile plateau and is known for its 40-km-long city wall with its magnificent city gates, as well as its beautiful, authentic souks. Here, we'll visit the medina with arguably Morocco's most beautiful gate, the "Bab El Mansour." Another attraction is the Mellah, the Jewish quarter. The former royal stables of Moulay Ismaïl and the old granary impress with their sophisticated architecture. Afterwards, we'll return to Fez.

After an early breakfast, you leave oriental Fez and drive southeast through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Passing Ifran, the ski resort and the "Switzerland" of Morocco, the journey continues through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains with their cedar forests. A short walk in the surrounding area is possible today. With a bit of luck, you might encounter some Barbary macaques in their mustard-yellow fur, not shy at all, begging for a few peanuts. Afterwards, you drive through the Ziz Gorge, a bizarre canyon with oases and date palms, past the red-plastered houses of the oasis town of Erfoud, a town on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Erfoud is famous for its desert landscapes, its date palm groves, and its proximity to the spectacular sand dunes of Merzouga.

Today's stage offers a wealth of experiences, allowing you to experience the beauty and tranquility of the desert, admire the majestic landscapes, and prepare for the adventure that awaits you in the fascinating world of the Sahara. Afterwards, you'll ride a dromedary into the depths of the Sahara to the desert camp. On top of a high dune, you'll enjoy the magical sunset.

If you want to experience the magical moment of sunrise today, you'll have to get up early. After breakfast outdoors in the mild morning sun, you'll return to Merzouga either on the back of a dromedary or by off-road vehicle. You'll then drive via the former capital of the Tafilalt, the caravan station of Rissani. Finally, you'll reach Tinghir, where the Todra Valley begins. You'll drive up to the imposing Todra Gorge.

After breakfast, you continue your tour. On one section of the route, the road winds upstream along the Dadès River, lined with beautiful oasis villages, date palms and numerous kasbahs. The journey continues along the famous "Road of 1000 Kasbahs," where you discover the oasis of El-Kelaa M'Gouna in the Rose Valley. In the afternoon, you reach Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood" of Morocco. Numerous international films, such as "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Gladiator," were filmed here.

After a delicious breakfast, you'll travel to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where you'll visit one of the most magnificent kasbahs in North Africa. The kasbah is a beautiful example of traditional Berber mud- brick architecture. You'll then head southwest to the Berber people of the Souss region. If you're interested, you can visit a women's cooperative along the way. You'll reach Taroudant, the ancient capital of Sousse, in the afternoon. With its beautiful city walls, lively, colorful souk and rich range of goods, Taroudante seems like Marrakech's little sister.

After a relaxing breakfast, the journey continues via Agadir, which is worth a short detour. If you like, you can take a short stroll along the beach promenade or drive to the city's viewpoint, "Agadir Ofla." The journey then continues along the Atlantic coast, past numerous fishing villages and surf camps, to Essaouira. Once there, you can explore Essaouira's sights on a walking tour: the harbor, the Sqala, the medina, and the former Jewish quarter. The afternoon is free. Take time to stroll, swim in the sea, lie on the beach, ride a camel, enjoy a hammam or thalassotherapy to recharge your batteries, buy souvenirs, or visit museums.

Essaouira is all yours. There are many ways to relax here: lie on the sandy beach, ride a camel, enjoy a hammam or thalassotherapy, buy souvenirs in the medina, visit museums, and dine in authentic restaurants. The lively medina invites you to linger with its cozy restaurants, bustling alleys, idyllic squares, and colorful shops. The town's whitewashed houses with their blue shops contrast with the impressive, ochre-colored city walls. Here and in the neighboring towns, excellent conditions for windsurfers and kitesurfers from all over the world are offered.
