Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech to begin the journey. The trip starts as we travel through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain road in Morocco at 2,260 meters. Along the way, we will stop briefly to admire the spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains and enjoy the fresh mountain air. The drive then continues along winding roads that pass through traditional Berber villages.
During the journey, there is also an opportunity to visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, once the powerful stronghold of the Glaoui family. Although parts of the kasbah are now in ruins, several rooms remain beautifully decorated with colorful zellige tilework and intricately carved ceilings.
After exploring Telouet, we continue toward the famous Ait Benhaddou. Upon arrival, we will cross the shallow Ounila River—often dry during the summer—and begin discovering the kasbah on foot. You will stroll through its narrow alleys, capture memorable photos, and climb to the top for breathtaking panoramic views of the desert scenery and surrounding palm groves.
Later, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the kasbah, where you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal. After lunch, you will have some free time to explore further, take photos, or simply relax while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of this historic site.
In the late afternoon, we begin the return journey to Marrakech through the scenic High Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, your driver will drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of your unforgettable one-day excursion to Ait Benhaddou.
