THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP
Day 1 | Marrakesh (Arrival)
You will be met by your driver at the airport who will take you to your riad in the Medina.
Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity to take some initial sightseeing
tours. Your first night will be spent at Riad Bahia Salam. (B)
Day 2 | Marrakesh – El jadida – Casablanca (Approx 240 km)
Following breakfast, you will set off for Casablanca from Marrakesh via El Jadida. Along the way,
you will traverse diverse landscapes, from the bustling streets of Marrakesh to the coastal beauty
of El Jadida, with its historic Portuguese cistern and charming seaside ambiance. As you continue
your journey towards Casablanca, anticipate the vibrant energy of this coastal city, where
modernity meets tradition in a captivating blend. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors of this
cosmopolitan hub, including the iconic Hassan II Mosque and the picturesque Corniche, offering
a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Moroccan culture and architecture.

Day 3 | Casablanca – Rabat
Following breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore Casablanca before journeying on to
Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Revel in the beauty of the Royal Palace gardens, delve into the
history of the Kasbah des Oudaias, a significant Almohad-era structure, and pay a visit to the
grand Mausoleum of Mohammed V alongside the imposing Hassan Tower. Meander through the
medina’s labyrinthine alleys, adorned with intricately crafted wooden doors and terraces offering
views of the Oued Bou Regreg river.
You will stay overnight at Dar Shaan. (B)
Day 4 | Rabat – Chefchaouen
On the second day, you will leave Rabat and head towards Chefchaouen. The drive from Rabat to
Chefchaouen covers approximately 340 kilometers. As you travel, you will cross the scenic Rif
Mountains. Once you arrive in Chefchaouen, you will be greeted by the captivating beauty of the
“Blue City.” The houses in Chefchaouen were painted blue by the former Jewish population who
sought refuge there. Nestled against a mountain, the town offers a serene and relaxing
atmosphere. Take your time to explore the charming streets, visit small cafes, and browse
through the stores where you can find unique treasures.

Day 5 | Chefchaouen (stay)
Today is completely yours. The town is worth a visit both because of its location in the Rif
mountains and because of its picturesque alleys with blue and white whitewashed houses. Here
you have all the prerequisites to enjoy a relaxing stay. Chefchaouen is a good starting point for
hikes or even trekking tours lasting several days.

Day 6 | Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknès – Fez (approx. 210 km)
Today you drive to Meknès. The city is situated on a fertile plateau and is known for its 40 km
long city wall with its magnificent city gates, as well as for its beautiful, authentic souks. A visit
to the medina with the most beautiful gate in Morocco, the “Bab El Mansour”, is worthwhile.
Another place of interest is the Mellah, the Jewish quarter. The former royal stables of Moulay
Ismail and the old granary impress with their well-thought-out architecture. Afterwards, you will
visit the Roman city of Volubilis, the ruins of which you can see in detail. On the way to Fez, you
will see the pilgrimage town of Moulay Idriss in the hills opposite, whose outline is reminiscent
of a dromedary. Then the journey continues to the oldest of the royal cities, Fez.

Day 7 | Fès (Sightseeing)
After a leisurely breakfast, you can explore the fascinating city of Fez on a sightseeing tour. You
will drive to the “Castle of the South”, where you will have an unforgettable panoramic view of
the old town. Fez is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Through the wonderfully decorated gate “Bab
Boujelou” you enter the best-preserved old town district in Morocco and can visit the Koranic
school “Bou Inania”, the tomb of Moulay Idriss and the Kairouine mosque, as well as the oldest
university in the world. You will see the colourful souks, the traders’ and craftsmen’s alleys of
coppersmiths, tanners, tailors, chasers and potters. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy a fresh
mint tea, Moroccan style, in an authentic café.

Day 8 | Fez – Ifran – Midelt
Leave Fes to journey south. En route, you’ll pass by the city of Ifran, a ski hotspot known as the
Switzerland of Morocco. Continue on through the scenic, cedar forest-clad Mid-Atlas Mountains.
Stop here for a short walk amidst beautiful surroundings, and don’t forget to look out for the
mustard-yellow fur of the resident Barbary macaques.
In the afternoon you’ll reach the town of Midelt, known for being the first apple-producing area
of Morocco. Spend some time exploring at your leisure, or simply relax in your accommodation
before dinner.

Day 9 | Midelt – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi
Drive south through the rocky cliffs of the Ziz Gorges, surrounded by spectacular palm groves
amidst a jurassic landscape. Journey on past the oasis town of Erfoud to the village of Merzouga,
surrounded by the dramatic red-golden dunes of the Erg Chebbi.
Take a short break before swapping to a more traditional mode of transport – a dromedary – and
venturing into the depths of the Sahara to your next port of call: a desert camp. Enjoy the
enchanting sunset from atop a high dune, before spending the night in a traditionally styled
camp under the stars.

Day 10 | Erg Chebbi
Today, you can choose from several exciting desert activities. Embark on an exhilarating 4×4 drive
across the vast dunes or opt for a more peaceful camel ride to further explore the majestic
landscape. For a more immersive experience, you can arrange a lunch with local nomads and gain
insight into their way of life. Alternatively, you may prefer to spend the day at your own pace,
soaking in the serene beauty of the desert.

Day 11 | Merzouga – Dades (Appx 270 KM)
Begin your day with an early wake-up call to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes of
Merzouga. Afterward, enjoy a delightful open-air breakfast in the cool morning breeze. You have
the option to choose between a dromedary ride or a 4×4 off-road adventure back to Merzouga.
From Merzouga, your journey will take you through the historical town of Rissani, the former
capital of Tafilalt and a significant crossroads in ancient times. Continuing west, you will pass
through the breathtaking Todra Gorges, known for their dramatic rock formations. Finally, you
will arrive at the picturesque town of Dades.

Day 12 | Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou (Approximately 180 KM)
Today’s journey takes you from Dades to Ouarzazate and onwards to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved kasbah. En route, marvel at the
breathtaking landscapes and traditional Berber villages. Explore the ancient mud-brick
architecture of Ait Benhaddou before retiring for the night at Riad Caravane (B)
Day 13 | Ait Benhaddou – Marrakesh (Approximately 190 KM)
After breakfast, you will depart from Ait Benhaddou and head towards Marrakesh, a vibrant city
known for its rich history, bustling souks, and stunning architecture. As you approach
Marrakesh, you’ll pass through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, with opportunities to stop for
photos of the dramatic landscapes. Once in Marrakesh, check in at your accommodation and
enjoy a free evening to explore the lively Jemaa el-Fna square or relax at your hotel. Overnight
at Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, with breakfast included. (B)
Day 14 | Marrakesh
Spend the day exploring Marrakesh, the cultural heart of Morocco. Visit iconic landmarks like the
Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and Saadian Tombs. Stroll through the vibrant souks where
artisans sell everything from spices to handcrafted goods. In the afternoon, you may choose to
relax in the beautiful Majorelle Garden or experience a traditional hammam. You will stay
overnight in the luxurious Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, with breakfast included. (B)
Day 15 | Departure – Marrakech Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time until transfer – about 2 hours before flight departure – at
Marrakech airport.
