Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, your driver from Morocco Travel Igoudan will welcome you and transfer you to your traditional Riad in the Medina.

Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy your first discovery of the Red City with a walk through the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square, the lively heart of Marrakech. Here you will experience musicians, storytellers, street food stalls, and the magical atmosphere that makes Marrakech so unique.

You may also explore the nearby traditional souks, where artisans sell carpets, leather goods, spices, lanterns, and handmade crafts.

Guided City Tour of Marrakech

After breakfast, meet your professional local city guide for a fascinating discovery of Marrakech. During the tour, you will visit the main historical landmarks of the city, including:

• Koutoubia Mosque – the largest mosque in Marrakech (outside visit)
• Jemaa el-Fna Square – the vibrant cultural heart of the city
• Bahia Palace – a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture
• Bab Agnaou Gate – one of the most beautiful gates of the Medina
• The colorful traditional souks

The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. You may visit the famous Majorelle Garden, relax in a traditional Moroccan hammam, or enjoy a traditional dinner in the Medina.

Marrakech → Casablanca → Rabat

After breakfast your journey begins with a drive to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic capital. Here you may visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and the only mosque in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors.

Afterwards continue to Rabat, the elegant capital of Morocco located on the Atlantic coast.

Highlights of Rabat include:

• Royal Palace Gardens
• Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the ocean
• Mausoleum of Mohammed V
• The historic Hassan Tower

You will also have time to explore the Medina and its charming streets.

Rabat → Meknes → Volubilis → Fes

Today, your journey continues inland to the imperial city of Meknes.

Meknes is famous for its massive 40 km-long city walls, historic gates, and traditional markets. Highlights include:

• Bab El Mansour Gate, considered one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco
• The historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter)
• The impressive Royal Stables of Moulay Ismail

Afterwards, you will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the way to Fes, you will see the sacred town of Moulay Idriss, beautifully located on the hills. Arrival in Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco.

Fes City Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Fes, one of the most fascinating cities in the Islamic world. Your visit begins with a panoramic view of the Medina before entering through the famous Bab Bou Jeloud Gate.During the tour, you will visit:

• Bou Inania Madrasa
• Al-Qaraouiyine University, the oldest university in the world
• Moulay Idriss Mausoleum
• The famous leather tanneries

Walking through the Medina feels like traveling back in time. Narrow streets are filled with craftsmen, merchants, and traditional workshops producing pottery, textiles, copper, and leather goods.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a refreshing Moroccan mint tea in a traditional café.

Fes → Bin El Ouidan

Today, you travel south through the beautiful landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will pass through cedar forests where the famous Barbary monkeys live. Continuing through the scenic province of Azilal, you arrive at Bin El Ouidan, a stunning lake surrounded by mountains and forests.

The Bin El Ouidan reservoir is one of Morocco’s most beautiful lakes and a perfect place to relax.

Bin El Ouidan → Ouzoud Waterfalls → Marrakech

After breakfast, you may enjoy an optional boat ride on the lake before continuing your journey.

Next stop is the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Morocco. These spectacular falls are surrounded by olive trees and beautiful forest landscapes.

After exploring the waterfalls and enjoying lunch, the road continues back to Marrakech through beautiful countryside.

Marrakech → Airport

Depending on your flight schedule, your driver from Morocco Travel Igoudan will transfer you to Marrakech Airport.
